Data is the New Digital Gold - Save it, Secure it, Send it, Store it! Solve your unmanaged data transfer business challenges
In today’s world of rapidly emerging digital business processes a growing amount of electronic information flows, both within your business and externally to trading partners. Your data – and how efficiently, safely and effectively you handle its transfer – impacts your business greatly. It’s part of your competitive advantage. And a lot of it is data that would expose your company to risk if were misdirected, stolen, late, or lost. This data is exchanged in various ways, including system-to-system (batch file uploads, scheduled transfers), system-to-human (scheduled reports), and human-to-human (ad hoc emails and manual FTP uploads). It’s vital that the right data gets to the right person or place at the right time. In addition, it’s vital that you know – and can prove – that critical data traveled and arrived at its destination securely.

More Than Just Standups: Why Your Enterprise Isn’t Getting the Full Value Out of Agile… Yet
By now we have all seen teams standing daily, post-it notes be applied to walls, and kitchens stocked with Kombucha in an effort to replicate the practices that have help startup engineering teams be so successful. But these efforts often don’t translate into meaningful differences in an organization’s software product development process. The practices of Agile are few and highly popularized, but it is the underlying principles that are both often missed and truly meaningful. During this talk we will walk through some of the most common disconnects between practice and principle. You will learn how to organize and empower effective teams that can work autonomously and ruthlessly prioritize needs to create the greatest value for the business.

Trust: The currency that doesn't allow deficit spending
As people are more inter-connected, they yearn for more authenticity. We are hard-wired for community. Trust is built over time, it does not scale alone—nor brooks deficit spending. People are not their money. Like every currency it's a tool. The most important currencies never appear on a balance sheet.

Character *can* be built thru timeless lessons (Golden Rule, etc.) & many other threads in this social fabric that refuses to unravel, in face of claims it must submit to the demands of millennials.

The more important the decisions, the more likely they are done in person. Yes or yes? Sol'ns to growing fintech sector will flourish when cost-cutting accountants get sacked & UX (my other proposed talk) reigns.

How to decide on your content verticals
How to grow your social presence organically
How to keep content engaging and fresh

Comprehensive Design Transformation at Scale.
How can business leaders get everyone in their organization creating meaningful outcomes for their users and clients by focusing on innovative ways to hire, train, practice and recognize principles of design thinking? More Human Through Technology
In this session, we'll look at how Artificial Intelligence is being used to create powerful user experiences that drive deeper engagement and business value. UX design is moving away from something that lives inside of screens and devices to everyday objects around us and within the places we move through. Designing for this new reality requires thinking more broadly in consideration of how people interact with a product or service across touch points that blend the virtual and physical worlds.

Together we'll rethink the role of Design and the changes required to transform into a digital business driven by user experience. We'll look at technology that understands individual behaviors and anticipates needs through cognitive, machine learning, natural language processing and advanced analytics. These richer data insights will inspire new creative engagement strategies for delivering personalized, contextual experiences.
As people's lives increasingly become more complex, the promise of artificial intelligence and better design is to reduce the noise, make life more manageable and improve the human condition.

Unconventional Interfaces
In most scenarios, designers can make accurate assumptions about a user’s typical environment; however, highly specialized users and environments require us to rethink and reconstruct our knowledge of the situation. When it comes to these highly specialized use scenarios, we need to recalibrate our assumptions and forego any assumptions. Recently, I did just that when designing an iPad app that allows F-18 pilots to comfortably complete various in-flight tasks.

Stop, Collaborate and Listen: Transitioning from UX to Product on a Balanced Team
Transitioning from UX to Product Management can be a logical next step for UX practitioners who want to get more involved in the business side of a product and have influence over the direction of the entire experience. Sounds awesome right? I thought so. And still do!

At the core, having a UX background provides an incredible advantage, as you can apply the same skills and competencies to create a stellar user experience. But the path to being a successful product manager includes a lot more responsibility, focus, business acumen and team management skills. It’s akin to owning your own business, with your family- and you’re not the CEO.

In this talk I’ll walk through my experience in making the transition from UX to product in an enterprise organization, on a balanced team. I’ll cover the skills that translate well and the new skills that you may want to acquire.

Demystifying Healthcare Technology: Bridging the Executive/Technical Gap
Technology is transforming the way care is delivered, and by all indications the pace of technology innovations will continue at warp speed. But in order to have a revolutionary impact, technology must first be acquired and then successfully implemented. Unfortunately, many innovative solutions fall victim to operational and political potholes that disrupt full deployment. This session will explore more than a dozen traps that could prevent worthy technology-oriented projects from getting implemented at hospitals and physician offices and will offer practical suggestions for pushing through the barriers. This session is equally applicable to healthcare providers and developers/entrepreneurs/vendors.

How Blockchains and Cryptocurrency Can Transform Colleges in a Networked World
Blockchain is the technology for decentralized management of distributed data that underpins BitCoin and other cryptocurrencies. Researchers have recently noticed that Blockchain technology is also useful for transforming other previously centralized activities into distributed autonomous organizations, and that has spurred a flood of investment. Blockchains are ideally suited to create a universal ledger that records all educational events, transactions, and outcomes into a kind of global super-transcript that does not require validation or administration by centralized authorities. Such a ledger would be secure, private, tamper-proof, and timestamped but it would also be open so that third-party developers can create applications that deliver value to students, employers, and institutions. These applications would be deeply disruptive to accreditors, federal regulators, the personnel recruitment industry, rankings, credentialing, and other middle-man industries that create unnecessary friction in higher education, ultimately driving up the cost of education.

Love Mondays: Why Work Isn't Working
As humans, most of us are on a quest to find meaningful work. And yet, that same quest often robs us of our humanity. We search job boards for hours, update our LinkedIn profile, attend networking events, send applications to faceless companies, cross our fingers and hope for a response. And when we find work, it frequently leaves us feeling misunderstood, disengaged, and underutilized. Does it have to be this way? Is it an objective fact that looking for work has to feel dehumanizing? In this talk, Chris Turner makes a bold prediction. That looking for work will soon be as enjoyable as discovering music on Spotify. Backed equally by industry research and surprising consumer insights, Turner captains an optimistic voyage into the future of work; one where we gladly hand our jobs to robots and where entire companies exist in the cloud.

In this talk, we’ll go over the value of building internal mobile applications that make your workforce more efficient. Citing relevant case studies, we’ll look at success stories and their cost. Additionally, we’ll look at some of the challenges and workarounds for connecting mobile applications to internal systems that were often built before mobile was relevant. The goal is to arm you with enough information to understand where mobile can make an impact on your business and how to execute once you’ve identified an opportunity.

Smart Cities: The Future of Mobility
The possibilities emerging tech in mobility brings are overwhelming and incredibly exciting. Self-driving vehicles, vehicles communicating with each other, with street lights, with traffic ops centers, IoT from smart infrastructure applied in improving predictive analytics, 3D printing of vehicle parts or entire vehicles, innovations in freight, open data, and web/mobile applications to democratize communication all make for an exciting future. All of these improving and emerging technologies are making their way into the transportation world and can lead to positive or negative implications. Positive, if we can end up in a world in which we used the application of emerging technologies to address and solve many of the mobility issues we see or experience in out communities today. The Atlanta Regional Commission is helping guide policies throughout Metro Atlanta to shape the world we want to live in. Cities across the US are springboarding off of their Smart Cities Challenge proposals. Internationally, cities like London are working with start-ups and industry partners in new ways to prototype and hack solutions.

FoodFinder: A Mobile Approach to Ending Food Insecurity
"FoodFinder is a safe, secure and award-winning mobile and web app that gives food insecure children and their families a way to find free resources quickly. With just a tap, FoodFinder is hoping to have a solution that is one step closer to fighting poverty in the United States. The idea for the app came from Jack Griffin in 2013, when he was 15 years old, after watching a 60 Minutes interview of a 12 year old girl and her 10 year old brother. The children and their parents were homeless and constantly trying to find means for their next meal. Jack didn’t have an idea of what children living in poverty even looked like. In January 2014, he started researching Georgia poverty, and the homeless services coordinator for the Gwinnett County Public Schools informed him that there are children living in spaces meant for boxes and furniture. After being exploited out of what little money they have by cheap, unsafe hotels, storage units are the last resort for poor families if they want a roof over their head. Jack, like many others, had no idea the kinds of struggles that happen to other families right down the street from him.

After watching this piece, Jack decided to help kids in his own community. He wanted to join in the fight against child hunger and food insecurity in Georgia, but he sought to do something more than just volunteering at a food bank. He wanted to do something that would serve many kids and would last."
